Almost every production today includes some form of visual effect - from home improvement shows moving walls to feature films with computer generated actors. How does this impact your project ideas? How do you act when your co-star will be "added in post"? What are best practices to direct live action for visual effect enhancement. How do you describe it in a script? What hairstyles and costume choices help sell visual effects?

About the speaker
Kevin VanHook has had a diverse career, beginning as a comic book writer/artist to forming his own visual effects company and ultimately writing, directing and editing his own feature films. His studio got its start in Poway where he shot his first short film, DRIFTER and began his first feature film, FROST: Portrait of a Vampire with Gary Busey His work can be seen in films and TV shows such as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Miss Congeniality, I, Robot, Law & Order, and The Vampire Diaries.
